New Help to Buy scheme can benefit first-time buyers in the Wiltshire area

First-time buyers looking to step on to the property ladder in Wiltshire can take advantage of the new Help to Buy scheme at a Bellway development in the area.

The updated Government initiative can be used at the housebuilder’s Vicarage Gardens development in South Marston.

The new version of Help to Buy allows first-time buyers to purchase a new-build home with a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage – it is no longer available to existing homeowners.  The remaining 20 per cent is provided in the form of an equity loan from the Government, which is interest free for the first five years of homeownership.

Homes eligible to be purchased under the scheme must be priced under the new caps set for their region. This is £349,000 in Wiltshire, which falls within the South West.
