New Doveridge development passes key milestone

Construction work at a new housing development in Doveridge has passed a significant milestone, with half of the private homes now built on site.

Bellway is delivering 62 new homes at Dove Manor, off Derby Road, comprising 51 homes for the open market and 11 affordable properties available for local people through rent or shared ownership.

29 families have now moved into their new homes at the development, with almost 75 per cent of the properties now sold and just 13 remaining for sale.

Construction work at Dove Manor started in 2019 and is scheduled to be completed this summer.

Marie Richards, Sales Director for Bellway West Midlands, said: “Construction work is progressing well at Dove Manor and we have already welcomed 29 households to their new homes. The development is fast becoming a vibrant community, with first-time buyers, families and professionals working in nearby towns and cities all attracted to the village location.

“We are now expecting the final 13 homes to be snapped up quickly by buyers looking for a new home in a rural location, within walking distance of the village’s amenities, including a shop, pub and primary school.

“Uttoxeter is just three miles from home for a range of shops, services and leisure facilities, such as Uttoxeter Golf Club and Dovefield Retail Park, while the A50 Doveridge bypass is easily accessible for travelling further afield.”

Marie said: “There are beautiful showhomes at Dove Manor that are open for buyers to view by prior appointment. The Almond is a stylish two-bedroom home, while both the Lilac and the Bay are spacious four-bedroom detached houses.

“The showhomes offer an insight into the lifestyle that buyers can enjoy at Dove Manor, while showcasing the high level of craftmanship that Bellway puts into delivering new homes.”

Dove Manor is a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes. Prices start from £144,995 for the one-bedroom Oxhill apartment, and from £368,145 for the four-bedroom Lilac detached home.

The Oxhill, Wishaw, Almond and Sambourne house types are available to purchase on the latest Help to Buy scheme.  The scheme allows first-time buyers to purchase a new-build home with a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage, with the remaining 20 per cent provided as an equity loan from the Government, interest free for the first five years of homeownership.

New homes bought with Help to Buy must be priced under the cap set for their region – in the East Midlands, this is £261,500.

Bellway’s Express Mover scheme is also available for homeowners looking to buy a new property at Dove Manor. This involves Bellway working with two local estate agents to speed up the house-selling process.
