High demand for housing in Ash Green as half of new homes sell in three months

Half of the new homes for sale at a development in Ash Green have been sold within just three months – reflecting the high levels of demand for new housing in the area.

Ashberry Homes is building 35 private homes at Chestnut Grove, off White Lane, with 18 properties already reserved since the first plots were released for sale in March.

The housebuilder is also providing 24 affordable homes on site, available for local people through rent or shared ownership.

Dan Storey, Sales Manager for Ashberry Homes, said: “We are seeing very high demand at Chestnut Grove from a range of buyers, with the first residents expected to move into their new homes from this winter.

“It’s no surprise that this development is proving to be popular due to its idyllic rural location, yet just three miles from Aldershot town centre, and with excellent transport links to Guildford, Farnham and London. Indeed, the housing market locally remains strong, with this part of Surrey continuing to be attractive to buyers for its leafy surroundings yet proximity to roads and rail services into the capital.

“Chestnut Grove is also within easy reach of a number of well-regarded primary and secondary schools, making it popular with families.”

The development will span 13.8 acres, with 5.3 acres dedicated to new homes and 8.5 acres allocated to parkland.

As part of the planning agreement for the development, Ashberry Homes is also investing £1.5 million in financial contributions into essential services in Ash Green and the surrounding area.

Dan said: “Not only is Ashberry Homes delivering much-needed new homes to Ash Green, but we are also investing into the local community to ensure the development at Chestnut Grove will benefit both existing and new residents in the village.”

Chestnut Grove is a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes with prices currently starting at £480,000 for a three-bedroom semi-detached house. A new showhome will open at Chestnut Grove in the autumn.
