Barking project manager wins leading industry award
A project manager building new homes for Bellway has been awarded a prestigious industry award for his work at a development in Barking.
Bellway’s Sean Chappell, project manager for the housebuilder’s London Partnerships division at Fielders Quarter, has won a coveted Quality Award in the National House Building Council’s (NHBC) 2021 Pride in the Job awards programme.
Sean, who has been project manager at Fielders Quarter since building work began in April 2019, has now won six awards with the NHBC.
The winners of the 2021 Quality Awards were announced on Friday 18 June, following a year-long judging process by NHBC officials.
Now in its 41st year, Pride in the Job remains one of the most highly regarded competitions in the industry, recognising site managers who demonstrate best practice and excellence on-site to build homes of the highest quality.
Sean said: “It feels amazing to be recognised for the hard work you have done, and I am proud to say that this has been a great team effort, so we will be celebrating this win as a team. It has also been exciting for us to win this award as a newer division within Bellway.
“Working on site since the lockdown has had its challenges, but everyone on site has managed to pull together to deliver the high-quality homes that Bellway is renowned for.
“Fielders Quarters has been a rewarding project and I look forward to all the work we still have to do here.”
Sean will now progress to the next stage of the competition, which will see the winners of the Seal of Excellence and overall Regional Award announced.
