CASTLE Green Homes has promoted Julie Banham to the role of financial controller.

Julie began her career working for a firm of chartered accountants where she worked on the accounts for a variety of businesses including building merchants and construction companies.  Having audited the Anwyl Construction accounts, she went on to work for them as finance manager, before moving onto manage a large family estate, followed by Brenig Construction and most recently Castle Green.

“When I joined Castle Green as a management accountant in May 2021, it was in a supporting role as they were introducing a new finance system which I had implemented for a previous employer,” Julie explained.

Since then, her role has evolved to take on more responsibility for the wider accounts of the business, which was recently recognised with her promotion to finance controller.

Castle Green chief executive Gwyn Jones said: “Julie’s promotion is thoroughly deserved. Her experience means she’s stepped into the role excellently and with ease. Julie is fantastic to work with and an asset to Castle Green.”

Based at Castle Green’s St Asaph headquarters, Julie oversees the six-strong finance team.

“I deal with everything from cash flow and forecasting to producing monthly management accounts, working closely with the BDO audit team and delivering information to the Deloitte tax team,” Julie explained.

Julie’s son purchased a Castle Green home as a first time buyer and is in the process of buying his next home from the company.

“Castle Green were professional and committed during the whole process, which was great for an inexperienced first time buyer. He was so pleased with the quality of his home and the service that he’s buying his second home from Castle Green,” Julie added.
